AMM – Advanced Marina Management Course, SE Queensland, Australia 18-23 August 2024

The Advanced Marina Management (AMM) program is a profit-management training course designed for senior marina professionals. The course is internationally recognised and offered in conjunction with the Global Marina Institute. The AMM course offers its graduates both a national and international business perspective on management issues, and a long-term network of international contacts to rely on in the future
The course goes beyond the basics to teach the forefront of marina management best practices. The Marin Training Institute (MTI), carefully screens applicants to ensure that participants create a well-balanced peer group that will share knowledge and experience equally. The AMM course is endorsed by ICOMIA, the International Council of Marine Industries Associations.

Course Content

The AMM course examines the following topics:

 

  • Environmental Management
  • Customer Retention and the Customer Experience
  • Capital Budgeting
  • Conflict Management
  • Marina Design and Construction
  • Strategic Planning
  • Managing Tenants

During the course, participants engage in:

  • Best Profit Ideas
  • Group Problem Solving
  • Student Presentations
  • Interactive Workshops
  • Marina Site Visits
  • Group Project

As part of the course, participants will complete a capstone project, a major component of the AMM course. Participants will develop a master plan based on a marina they will inspect with fellow participants. This project requires the participants to integrate design, marketing, financial, marina operation and strategic planning skills.

Prerequisites

  • You must have completed the Intermediate Marina Management Course
  • 3 years experience as a marina manager working on-site in a marina OR 3 years working onsite in a marina in a supervisory/other management position. OR 5 years in a leadership position in a marina affiliated company
  • Places are strictly limited

Note: Those following the CMP career pathway with 10 years or more senior management or leadership experience within the Marina affiliated industries; may be eligible to apply to the AMM directly.

Course Cost:

  • MIA Members only: AUD $4,950 (exc. GST)
  • MIA Non-Members: AUD $6,990 (exc. GST)

This is a residential course. There is no non-residential option.

Fees include course fee, course materials, accommodation for 5 nights of morning and afternoon teas, lunches, welcome drinks, 2 x dinners and a field trip.
