British Marine in partnership with the Marina Industries Association (MIA), delivered an Intermediate Marina Management (IMM) course in Dubai recently to 10 delegates from the UAE, Greece and the UK. It was also an opportunity to present a Certified Marina Manager (CMM) certificate to the latest marina professional to be recognised by the Industry – Ahmed Mohamed Abdelhalim from Dubai Marina Yacht Club.
This four-day course is designed to provide marina personnel in a leadership position with training in the critical issues of marinas. It is aimed at managers, supervisors and dockhands who have had at least one full year of experience working at this level. Each day is packed with a range of learning opportunities, including formal classes and lectures, informal discussions, a field trip to nearby marinas, group projects, marina & boatyard industry networking and evening classes and discussions.
Course delegate, Helen Titchmarsh from Titchmarsh Marina commented “Great course, great location and most importantly the best group of people I could hope to meet. Shout out to the three marinas (Bulgari Marina, Dubai Creek Marina and Marasi Marina) who hosted us so magnificently, Colin Bransgrove (MIA) and Blue Davies (British Marine) for delivering a great course and to our tutors who proved to be very informative.”
The next course is in Poole, UK and details of it can be found here.
